Tout débuta dans l’Eames Lounge Chair de sa maman qui, enceinte, écoutait du classique sur la Technics de son papa. Puis il y eu les leçons d’orgue électrique de Mme Arcoutel, la classe de percussions du conservatoire, les groupes de rock, la fanfare militaire, le jazz, les tournées avec kamaDiva, le Printemps de Bourges, les virées clubbing en Belgique, les prods improbables en studio…
En 2006, Claap crée avec son complice Laurent les soirées « La French » au feu Paris Paris, puis au Showcase et au Régine, avec des variantes Chez Moune, au Baron et au B.C. notamment. De nombreuses années de bonheur et une programmation exceptionnelle avec Tête d’Affiche forgent sa sensibilité aux musiques de la Fête et de belles amitiés. C’est donc tout naturellement qu’il passe derrière les platines de la French pour embraser les clubs aux côtés d’artistes aussi différents que Breakbot, Will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), The Magician, Teki Latex, etc. En 2011, au cours d’un épique été à Calvi, son copain Greg Boust l’invite à rejoindre Tête d’Affiche. La boucle est bouclée.
Selector pas sectaire, Claap a toujours dans sa besace « le bon disque pour le bon moment », capable de créer la bande originale d’un massage improvisé sur la plage, d’exploser une grande discothèque de province avec le dernier tube mainstream US ou d’embarquer n’importe quel dancefloor avec d’irrésistibles perles Nu Disco, son péché mignon, dont les producteurs sont souvent ses copains: Mustang, Villa, Mickey…

Sylvain is the definition of a modern-day Renaissance Man. He is a musician, doctor, music connoisseur, bowls photographer, entrepreneur, nightlife innovator, and DJ.
His musical affinity started during his mom’s pregnancy. While in her Eames Lounge Chair she would enjoy listening to classical music from his dad’s Technics. Sylvain knows this had a huge impact on why he loves music so much.
His musical education and endeavors shaped and influenced his life. Starting off at Mrs. Arcoutel’s electric organ lessons, he then continued percussion classes at the Conservatory of Music. Also, Sylvain was part of various rock bands and participating in military marching bands. Whenever he could, Sylvain would jam out at jazz sessions and had countless, intense studio session. Later on he toured with kamaDiva and went clubbing at venues all over the world. All of these various and some formal, musical experiences shaped up his life.
In 2006, Claap (aka Sylvain) created the « La French » parties and events with his partner Laurent. La French is an ongoing adventure of the best venues of Paris: Paris Paris, Showcase, Regine, Moune, Baron and B.C. among others. Operating and managing La French also gave Claap exposure and art direction experience with the exceptional Tête d’Affiche. Throughout the years of running La French, he developed an ear for all kinds of party music that people would love, enjoyed many years of happiness, and established great friendships with many artists.
Claap naturally transitioned behind the desks. He often teamed up and tore up dancefloors with artists such as Breakbot, Will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), The Magician, Teki Latex, and many more high profile DJ’s. In 2011, during an epic summer in Calvi, his friend Greg Boust invited him to join Tête d’Affiche. Full Circle.
Claap, a nonsectarian selector, has always the right track for the right time. He also has the uncanny ability to deliver a perfect soundtrack for an impromptu massage on the beach, to blast a large venue with the latest hits, or hypnotize the crowd with exclusive Nu Disco delights from his friends Mustang, VillA, Mickey, Herr Styler, Justin Miller at DFA, etc.
